Brenton Harty started his career in 1984 where he worked as a teacher, computer coordinator and ICT Integrator with the Victorian Education Department well before those terms became commonplace.
He held the positions of IT Manager at a Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School for twenty-four years where some of his responsibilities were eLearning Manager and ICT Integration while serving on the teaching and learning committee and reporting to the Executive and Board of Management. He currently holds the position of Director of ICT at Presbyterian Ladies’ College in Melbourne where he is responsible for ICT, AV, Library, eLearning and the ICT curriculum.
Always a passionate advocate for the use of ICT in education, he has driven the adoption of classroom technologies while seeing the role of ICT management in schools become mainstream and professional.
He completed a Masters in Business IT with a focus on gaining better educational value from ICT. He has a special interest in Strategic Planning ensuring IT Management, governance, knowledge management, change management and project management are not seen as separate activities but rather a vital part of delivering the best possible teaching and learning outcomes.
