Danielle Vandenberg, Head Teacher of English, Ambarvale High School

Danielle has been accredited at Highly Accomplished with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA). Danielle, along with the Head Teacher HSIE, is responsible for leading the delivery of one of the four innovative pedagogy projects within the school: Year 9 Epic Humanities, a cross-curricular project between English and HSIE with a focus on Project Based Learning, growth mindset, enhancing student engagement and transference of knowledge. Danielle has also driven the implementation of innovative, research-based pedagogies in the Year 10 Gifted and Talented English class to deepen student’s understanding of English concepts to enhance their learning outcomes and encourage independent thinking and experimentation. She enthusiastically encourages strategic risk-taking in the classroom encouraging students to perceive challenges and failures as the perfect opportunity to learn.
