Michael Milford, Chief Investigator, Australian Centre for Robotic Vision

Professor Milford is a multi-award winning educational entrepreneur and a leading robotics researcher. He has spent nearly two decades creating innovative K-12 resources including three textbooks, 18 early childhood storybooks, a STEM-filled young adult novel, maths in the movies workshops, robotics and maths YouTube channels and a regular Hollywood movie science review series. His resources have been used by millions globally and thousands of Australian students.
Professsor Milford’s research combines neuroscience, machine learning and robotics to create new technologies for robots and autonomous vehicles, and has attracted more than 22 million dollars in funding. He has collaborated with organizations including Harvard University, Oxford University, MIT, Google Deepmind, Caterpillar, the US Air Force and NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
