Shelley Hill, President, Australian Parents Council

Shelley has had an impactful career of service advocating for parents within education. She is currently the President of the Australian Parents Council, was a past President of the Parents and Friends Federation of WA (she is currently a project officer at PFFWA), a recently retired Commissioner of the Catholic Education Commission of WA and a former school board member on a number of school boards, and an active volunteer.  
Shelley is an accredited facilitator for Successful Learning in the Early Years and Indigenous Parent Factor programs.  She graduated as a cartographer and has a Graduate Diploma in Geographic and Land Information Systems. 
The Australian Parents Council (APC) is a national federation of Catholic and independent school parents’ organisations. APC passionately advocates the needs and aspirations of parents and pursues policy, practice, programs, partnerships, and collaboration that maximize schooling outcomes for all Australian children.
APC advocates for :

  • •    choice and quality in schooling
  • •    the needs and aspirations of parents and their children’s learning and well being
  • •    the equitable distribution of government funds for education
  • •    effective partnerships to maximise schooling outcomes
We are passionate about promoting parental engagement in children’s education.
We believe that active and empowered parent groups and parents can, and do, make a significant difference.
